Jack Scrantom

Jack coordinates the firm’s cannabis business practice in Washington State, by assisting clients in navigating the complex licensing and regulatory system created by Initiative 502. In his cannabis business practice, Jack has counseled numerous companies through various compliance and transactional issues involving the Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board and the myriad regulations contained in WAC 314-55. Jack’s cannabis experience includes helping cannabis licensees with day to day compliance, M&A, license transfers, and various other cannabis transactions, including real estate financing, distribution agreements, and goods and services agreements.

In addition to his cannabis practice, Jack advises clients on a wide range of matters at the intersection of business and immigration, including workforce and mobility planning, cross-border employment, and permanent residency and specialty visa issues. He also helps individuals seeking permanent residence in the U.S. as entrepreneurs, company executives, or investors in U.S. enterprises. Jack has extensive experience advocating for clients before U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, as well as the Administrative Appeals Office.

In addition to his cannabis law and immigration law experience, Jack has also worked on matters involving commercial claims in international jurisdictions and on developing best practices for arbitration provisions in international commercial contracts.

Jack attended the University of Idaho College of Law, and outside of work, is an avid fly fisherman and experienced guide. He is also a serious reader, enjoys listening to and collecting records, and practicing Muay Thai.
